Oak Moon Rising
“FOR THE EARTH
WHICH DRINKETH IN THE
RAIN THAT COMETH OFTEN
UPON IT, AND BRINGETH FORTH
HERBS FIT FOR THEM BY WHOM
IT IS DRESSED, RECEIVETH
BLESSINGS FROM GOD”
Little did I know that while tending to my mothers German 4-square herb garden as a little girl, making Lavender bud sugar and drinking Lemon Verbena tea, a little acorn took root. With love as her sunlight, Oak Moon Rising sprouted and grew, with roots as deep as Mother Nature herself. It wasn’t until my mid 20’s, while on the path to conceive, that the passion for herbal medicine became my reality. Hours of researching uterine tonics, fertility herbs and rhythmic cycles cultivated a hunger for knowledge & understanding.
I was introduced to herbalist Susan Weed in 2005 and from that moment I knew that I was being called to walk alongside other women struggling with the day to day roller coaster of trying to conceive. In 2013, I began my journey on the herbalists path. My studies began in April of 2013 with renowned herbalist Rosemary Gladstar through Sage Mountain in Vermont and continues presently with Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine. My focus is in women’s health and infant care and has led me to pursue a path in birth work; including placenta encapsulation & Bengkung belly binding.
Hi, I’m Cassy Lynn, proprietress of Oak Moon Rising! I am a native of Greencastle Pennsylvania and a high school graduate of Cumberland Valley Christian School. An old soul & romantic at heart, I truly was born a century too late. Before following the path in herbalism, I had a 13 year career in banking & finance and a 3 year career as a chiropractic assistant. In 2015, my husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with a beautiful handfasting ceremony and vow renewal. We reside within the Borough of Chambersburg Pennsylvania with our little Llasa Apso, Pippin.
The Oak is a symbol of life, strength, wisdom & community with her acorns being a symbol of fertility.
A full moon is a time when healing potential is at it’s peak & a rising moon announces the promise of a new beginning.
According to Celtic folklore, the Oak Moon is at the height of Midsummer during Summer Solstice when the day is long and when the growth of all things is encouraged. It is said that the Oak is a haven for restoration & inner peace.
