Oak Moon Rising
“FOR THE EARTH
WHICH DRINKETH IN THE
RAIN THAT COMETH OFTEN
UPON IT, AND BRINGETH FORTH
HERBS FIT FOR THEM BY WHOM
IT IS DRESSED, RECEIVETH
BLESSINGS FROM GOD”
Welcome! I’m Cassy Lynn, proprietress of Oak Moon Rising Herbals! I am a native of Greencastle Pennsylvania and currently live in the Borough of Chambersburg with my husband & our little Lhasa Apso, Sir Pippin Squeaks • Pips as he knows it!
Path to Herbalism
In 2013, I began my journey on the herbalists path with a focus in women & children’s herbals. My studies began in April of 2013 with renowned herbalist Rosemary Gladstar through Sage Mountain in Vermont and continued with Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine & One Willow Apothecaries in 2018.
The Oak is a symbol of life, strength, wisdom & community with her acorns being a symbol of fertility. A full moon is a time when healing potential is at it’s peak & a rising moon announces the promise of a new beginning.
According to Celtic folklore, the Oak Moon is at the height of Midsummer during Summer Solstice when the day is long and when the growth of all things is encouraged. It is said that the Oak is a haven for restoration & inner peace.
With the arrival of a new decade comes many new paths. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you for your loyalty and patronage these past 6 years. It has been through your support that Oak Moon Rising sustained her many moons
But with any adventure through life comes a time to say goodbye. It is with deep discomfort that this moment has come, but her arrival has been evident for several months. Many shifts are taking place, not just for me personally, but throughout the herbal community. Since opening Oak Moon Rising in 2013, I have watched the landscape change drastically amidst the ever-expanding realm of social media & online business structure. One is constantly attempting to keep up with algorithms in order to be seen and if not performed correctly makes it almost impossible to be supported in a way that is financially sustainable
For me personally, 2019 has been the hardest year I have ever endured. The path to family planning has left our hearts broken, our arms empty and financially over burdened. It has become quite obvious that we can no longer survive on one stable income, payoff the debt we incurred and continue to personally fund an unsupported herbal business. The anxiety is too overwhelming
Apothecary is scheduled to close January 31, 2020 • Etsy shop will remain open until entire stock is sold out
I leave you with well wishes & many blessings and all the love & gratitude in my heart
